The Siemens SLSBBR is a red surface-mount backbox for the Siemens SL Series of notification appliances. It allows SL Series wall horns, strobes, and horn-strobes to be surface mounted.
Surface mounting matters when a wall has no recessed electrical box. Instead of cutting into the wall, the SLSBBR provides the mounting depth on the surface. As a result, retrofit installations go faster and look cleaner.
Siemens SLSBBR compatibility
Siemens lists the SLSBBR as the surface-mount backbox option for SL Series indoor wall appliances. That family covers the SLHW horns, SLSW strobes, and SLHSW horn-strobes. Alternatively, a white version is available as Model SLSBBW. For mounting SL Series appliances to 4-inch square boxes, Siemens instead offers the SLSGP-R or SLSGP-W adapter kits.
