The Silent Knight SD505-PHOTO is an addressable photoelectric smoke detector for IntelliKnight fire alarm systems. It detects the large, visible particles produced by slow, smoldering fires. As a result, it provides reliable early warning in commercial spaces. Please note that this detector is discontinued.
How the SD505-PHOTO Detects Smoke
The detector uses a photoelectric chamber with an LED source and a silicon photodiode. Each unit carries a unique address, which the IntelliKnight panel recognizes. Therefore, the panel can pinpoint the exact device in alarm. In addition, the detector compensates automatically for environmental contamination.
Status and Testing
A flashing status LED confirms normal operation. When the detector alarms, the LED latches on steady. Furthermore, the design supports simple testing, even from a remote location. A field-selectable, vandal-resistant locking feature also secures the detector where needed.
