The Gentex (SC) alarm (Gentex part number 918-0031-002) is a 120 VAC single/multiple-station combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarm. It is part of the Gentex S/C/SC/H Series.
First, the unit combines photoelectric light-scattering smoke detection with electrochemical CO sensing. Then, smoke conditions trigger a temporal-3 horn pattern, while CO conditions trigger a temporal-4 pattern. As a result, occupants can distinguish the threat by the audible cadence.
Gentex (SC) Specifications
Operating voltage is 120 VAC, 60 Hz, with a 9 V alkaline battery for backup. The operating current is 0.055 A. Furthermore, nominal smoke sensitivity is 2.5% obscuration. The piezo horn produces 85 dBA at 10 ft (3100 Hz nominal).
Operating ambient temperature is 40 °F to 100 °F. The unit measures 5.5″ × 5.5″ overall (5.0″ × 5.0″ at the base) with a 1.75″ depth. In addition, an 8-hour alarm memory and 10-year end-of-life indicator are standard.
Dual-Threat Logic
If smoke and CO are both present, the Gentex (SC) prioritizes the smoke alarm warning (temporal 3). Additionally, the DUALINK® feature lets interconnected smoke or CO alarms repeat the correct alarm pattern across the household. As a result, occupants always hear the most urgent threat.

Tandem Interconnect
The Gentex (SC) tandem-interconnects with other S, SR, STRR, SHRR, SC, SCR, SCRR, S220, SR220, H, H220, C, CR, GN-503 Series, CO1209 Series, and S1209 Series alarms. However, it is not compatible with legacy 7100/7103, 9120/9123, GN-300/GN-303, or 7109CS/7139CS Series products.
