The Honeywell M500S is an addressable supervised control module for intelligent fire alarm systems. It connects to a signaling line circuit (SLC) loop. Moreover, it supervises and switches power to external notification devices. Installers use it to control horns, strobes, and bells.
How the Honeywell M500S works
The module monitors wiring to load devices that need an external supply. First, it reports type and status to the panel on each poll. Then it switches the supervised output on panel command. In addition, it supports both Class B (Style Y) and Class A (Style Z) wiring.
Key details
- Addressable supervised control module on the SLC loop
- Controls horns, strobes, bells, and similar load devices
- Class B (Style Y) and Class A (Style Z) supervision
- Rotary switches set the device address
- Onboard LED shows module status
- Mounts in a standard 4-inch square, 2-1/8" deep box
Order the M500S as a direct replacement for a failed control module. However, confirm your panel supports the M500 protocol first. Then set the address before installation. Finally, test supervision and activation after wiring.
