The Mircom EC-100 is a brushed stainless steel single-gang pull-cord station for emergency-call and nurse-call systems. First, the wall plate carries a UL-approved slide switch. Then a 6-foot pull cord with a white pendant hangs from the plate. As a result, an occupant signals for help by tugging the cord.
Mircom EC-100 electrical specs
The unit uses a 125 VAC, 3 A DPDT slide switch. In addition, the EC-100 wires into Mircom EC-Series emergency-call panels. Specifically, refer to CAT-9000 for the full EC-Series catalog. Therefore, system compatibility belongs to the EC-Series controller, not the station itself.
What it is not
The EC-100 is a nurse-call/assistance pull station, not a fire-alarm manual pull station. However, prior copy framed it under NFPA 72 and “ADA single-action” — those references do not apply here. Furthermore, this is a basic mechanical station with no LED indicator; the EC-103 is the LED variant.
Installation
The plate fits a standard single-gang electrical box. Also, the box itself is not supplied with the unit. For example, install in patient rooms, accessible restrooms, and assisted-living suites.
