The Edwards 5552-15W-G is a high-efficiency double re-entrant loudspeaker in a gray housing. First, it delivers 15 watts of continuous power. Importantly, it is a loudspeaker, not a horn or strobe. As a result, it reproduces voice and tone signals with high intelligibility.

The re-entrant design projects sound efficiently over distance. Specifically, it covers a 400 to 14,000 Hz frequency range. In addition, it produces up to 120 dB peak output at one meter. Therefore, it carries clearly in noisy, open spaces.
Field-selectable taps
A built-in transformer serves both 25 V and 70.7 V audio lines. Also, a seven-position watts/impedance switch sets the power tap. As a result, installers balance output against branch loading without swapping devices.
Mounting and construction
An adjustable bracket positions the speaker vertically or horizontally. Furthermore, it surface-mounts or strap-mounts to I-beams and pillars. Then epoxy-coated metal and ABS components resist weather indoors or outdoors. The 5552-15W-G is UL 1480 listed as a fire protective signaling speaker.
