The Edwards EDGE-CLA1 is a Class A adapter module for EDGE Series fire alarm panels. First, it converts a signaling line circuit to Class A wiring. As a result, the loop gains a redundant return path for added survivability.
Class A circuits keep operating after a single wire-to-wire open. Therefore, detection on the loop continues during certain fault conditions. In addition, the panel supervises the circuit and reports faults.
Why specify the Edwards EDGE-CLA1
Designers choose Class A wiring where code or owner requirements call for higher circuit survivability. Also, the EDGE-CLA1 integrates with the EDGE SLC architecture. Furthermore, it installs within the EDGE panel for a clean configuration.
