The Mircom EL-7007RX-NYC is a red LED emergency exit sign approved for New York City installations. First, the housing is injection-molded UL-94V-0 flame-rated ABS thermoplastic. Then super-bright SMD LEDs light the EXIT face. As a result, the sign meets NYC code requirements for marked egress paths.

Input voltage is 120/277 VAC at 60 Hz. In addition, a Nickel Cadmium battery sustains the sign for at least 90 minutes during an AC loss. Specifically, the conversion time to battery is under 0.2 seconds. Therefore, the sign satisfies the typical 90-minute backup requirement.
Mounting and arrows
The sign ships with mounting hardware plus left- and right-arrow inserts. Also, it accepts wall, ceiling, or side mounting. Furthermore, the test switch and charge indicator are accessible on the unit. As a result, monthly visual checks take seconds.
Environment and rating
The IP class is IP20 with Insulation Class II. However, the operating range is 0-40°C (32-104°F). Coverage is rated for about 80 m² (860 sq ft) per sign. Finally, the LED is rated at 50,000 hours and the unit carries a 3-year warranty.
