The Fire-Lite OSI-RI-FL is an intelligent single-ended reflective beam smoke detector. Specifically, it uses optical imaging to detect smoke across an open space. As a result, it protects large areas that spot detectors cannot cover well.
First, the detector projects an infrared beam toward a passive reflector. Then, smoke in the beam path reduces the returned signal. Therefore, the unit alarms on light obscuration rather than chamber sampling.
