The Siemens FJ-303SS (part number 500-698309) is a field-mounted firefighter’s telephone jack with a stainless-steel plate. Specifically, it serves the emergency telephone system on Siemens Cerberus PRO Modular fire alarm control panels. As a result, firefighters can plug a portable handset into the jack anywhere in the building.
How the Siemens FJ-303SS Works
First, the jack wires to a telephone zone circuit on the TZC-8B Telephone Zone Card. Then, a firefighter plugs in a PFT or PFT-P portable handset. The handset uses a 1/4-inch phone-plug assembly on a red coiled cord. Next, the system operator activates two-way communication with the FMT Firefighters’ Master Telephone. Furthermore, there is no limit on jacks per telephone zone circuit. Also, the system supports at least five remote phones active at once without signal degradation.
The FJ-303SS has flying leads for field wiring. However, if you need screw terminals instead, order the FJ-304SS. Likewise, the FJ-303 offers the same flying-lead jack with a red baked-enamel plate.
