The Edwards G4AVRA-CVR is a quick-swap replacement appliance cover for Genesis LED G4 Series wall-mount horn-strobes. Specifically, it provides a red housing with ALERT marking. As a result, installers can convert an existing G4 horn-strobe from FIRE marking (or no marking) to ALERT marking in seconds.
The Edwards G4AVRA-CVR is a cover only. Therefore, it does not include the horn, strobe, electronics, or mounting plate. Also, the cover ships in a single-piece molded plastic format that snaps over the existing appliance.
Application
This cover fits the Genesis LED G4 horn-strobe family. For example, it fits the G4AVRF (FIRE marking, red) and G4AVRN (no marking, red) appliances. As a result, a single appliance SKU can serve fire alarm, mass notification, or alert use cases through cover swaps. However, the underlying appliance must be a G4 horn-strobe; this cover does not fit G4 horn-only or strobe-only models.
Marking and Use Case
The ALERT marking distinguishes mass notification from primary fire alarm signaling. Then end users can visually identify the device function from across a room. Furthermore, NFPA 72 and the IBC require markings to match the intended message — so verify the AHJ accepts ALERT for the system mode.
Construction
The housing is color-impregnated engineered plastic, factory-textured. As a result, the red color will not chip or fade like a painted surface. Also, the cover meets the same flammability rating as the parent appliance. No standalone agency listings apply to this passive accessory.
