The Edwards G4AWA-CVR is a quick-swap replacement appliance cover for Genesis LED G4 Series wall-mount horns. First, it provides a white housing with ALERT marking. As a result, installers can re-purpose an existing G4 horn appliance from FIRE marking to ALERT marking without rewiring.
The Edwards G4AWA-CVR fits the G4 HORN-ONLY family. Specifically, it pairs with the G4AWF (white, FIRE marking) or G4AWN (white, no marking). However, this cover does not fit G4 strobe-only or horn-strobe appliances. Therefore, verify the underlying device is a horn-only G4 before ordering.
Application
Use this cover when converting a building from fire alarm signaling to mass notification, or vice versa. Then a single inventory of G4 horn appliances can serve both functions through cover swaps. Furthermore, the cover changes marking only — horn output settings and tone selection are configured on the underlying device, not the cover.
Marking and Compliance
The ALERT marking differentiates mass notification from primary fire alarm signaling per NFPA 72. As a result, occupants distinguish a fire evacuation horn from an alert tone. Also, your AHJ may require specific marking conventions for ECS or MNS deployments. Therefore, confirm acceptance before ordering covers.
Construction
The housing is color-impregnated engineered plastic with a factory textured surface. Furthermore, the white color is integral to the material, not a paint finish. As a result, the cover resists chipping and UV fade. No standalone UL or CSFM listings apply — this is a passive accessory.
