The Gentex SHRR (Gentex part number 917-0073-002) is a 120 VAC single/multiple-station photoelectric smoke alarm. It includes an isolated 135 °F thermal with rate of rise and two sets of Form A/Form C dry contacts.
First, photoelectric light-scattering sensing detects smoke. Then, the isolated thermal element triggers on a 135 °F fixed-temperature alarm or on a rapid rise in ambient temperature. As a result, the SHRR combines two independent initiating technologies in a single 120 VAC alarm.
Gentex SHRR Specifications
Operating voltage is 120 VAC, 60 Hz, with a 9 V alkaline battery for backup. The operating current is 0.055 A. Furthermore, nominal smoke sensitivity is 2.5% obscuration. The temporal-3 piezo horn produces 85 dBA at 10 ft (3100 Hz nominal).
Operating ambient temperature is 40 °F to 100 °F. The unit measures 5.5″ × 5.5″ overall (5.0″ × 5.0″ at the base) with a 1.75″ depth. In addition, the SHRR uses a unique wiring harness that is not interchangeable with other S Series models.
Relay Outputs
The SHRR provides two sets of Form A and Form C auxiliary relay contacts. Relays operate on battery backup. Contact ratings are 1.0 A @ 30 VDC max, 0.3 A @ 125 VAC max, and 0.3 A @ 220 VAC max (resistive load). Additionally, one set is dedicated to smoke alarm contacts; the other set serves the heat alarm output.

Tandem Interconnect
The Gentex SHRR tandem-interconnects with S, SR, STRR, SHRR, SC, SCR, SCRR, S220, SR220, H, H220, C, CR, GN-503 Series, CO1209 Series, and S1209 Series Gentex alarms. However, it is not compatible with legacy 7100/7103, 9120/9123, GN-300/GN-303, or 7109CS/7139CS Series products. Maximum 12 S or SC Series smoke alarms per interconnect string.
