The Gentex (SR) alarm (Gentex part number 917-0071-002) is a 120 VAC single/multiple-station photoelectric smoke alarm with one set of Form A/Form C dry contacts. It is part of the Gentex S/C/SC/H Series.
First, the alarm uses photoelectric light-scattering smoke sensing. Then, when smoke triggers the alarm, the integrated relay closes a Form A/C contact set for remote annunciation. As a result, the SR can drive door-holders, HVAC interlocks, or a remote panel in a residential or light-commercial install.
Gentex (SR) Specifications
Operating voltage is 120 VAC, 60 Hz, with a 9 V alkaline battery for backup. The operating current is 0.055 A. Furthermore, nominal smoke sensitivity is 2.5% obscuration. The temporal-3 piezo horn produces 85 dBA at 10 ft (3100 Hz nominal).
Operating ambient temperature is 40 °F to 100 °F. The unit measures 5.5″ × 5.5″ overall (5.0″ × 5.0″ at the base) with a 1.75″ depth. In addition, the SR uses a unique wiring harness that is not interchangeable with other S Series models.
Relay Output
The Gentex (SR) provides one set of Form A and Form C auxiliary relay contacts. The relay operates on battery backup. Contact ratings are 1.0 A @ 30 VDC max and 0.3 A @ 125 VAC max (resistive load). Additionally, the relay can be activated by tandem-interconnect wire.

Tandem Interconnect
The Gentex (SR) tandem-interconnects with S, SR, STRR, SHRR, SC, SCR, SCRR, S220, SR220, H, H220, C, CR, GN-503 Series, CO1209 Series, and S1209 Series alarms. However, it is not compatible with legacy 7100/7103, 9120/9123, GN-200/GN-203, GN-300/GN-303, or 7109CS/7139CS Series products.
