The Kidde SD-T24 is a 24-inch air sampling tube for duct smoke detector housings. Specifically, it draws sample air from the duct interior into the detector chamber.
In addition, the SD-T24 fits Edwards SuperDuct and Kidde Optica duct smoke detector platforms. As a result, the same tube family covers both Edwards EST and Kidde Commercial detection systems.
Kidde SD-T24 selection
First, match the sampling tube length to the duct width. Then, the 24-inch SD-T24 suits medium-width HVAC ducts. As a result, the tube intake holes span the airstream cross-section correctly.
Furthermore, the SD Series family includes other lengths. Specifically, options include the SD-T8, SD-T18, SD-T36, SD-T42, SD-T60, SD-T78, and SD-T120 to match a wide range of duct sizes.
Installation
The SD-T24 inserts through a precut duct opening into the detector housing. Therefore, follow the host detector’s installation sheet for exact orientation and sealing requirements.
