The Kidde GSA-CRR is a polarity reversal relay module for the Signature addressable loop. First, the loop controller commands the module to switch state. Then, the module reverses the polarity on a two-wire output circuit.
As a result, a downstream receiver — typically a remote station, RPU, or DACT input — sees the change as an alarm or trouble signal. In addition, the GSA-CRR provides a supervised output suited to remote signaling tie-ins.
How the Kidde GSA-CRR Works
The GSA-CRR plugs onto a Signature mounting base. Then, the panel addresses it as a Signature output point. Furthermore, the module’s personality code defines its operating mode during commissioning.
In addition, the output is supervised end-to-end. As a result, an open or short on the output wiring is reported as a trouble at the panel.
Typical Applications
- Remote-station polarity-reversal signaling per NFPA 72
- Drive a DACT or RPU input that expects polarity reversal
- Tie-in to a leased-line communicator
- Auxiliary supervised output where polarity flip drives the receiver
Key Features
- Single polarity-reversal output controlled from the Signature loop
- Supervised output wiring
- Configurable function through personality code
- UL 38, UL 864, ULC-S527, ULC-S528, and FM3010 listed
- Compatible with Kidde / Vigilant / Edwards Signature loop controllers
