The Kidde GSA-MCC2 is a dual-input signal module for the Signature loop in a UIO plug-in form factor. First, it terminates two supervised output circuits to signal risers 1 and 2. Then, field wiring goes to the Universal Input/Output motherboard, not the module body.
In addition, the GSA-MCC2 switches each riser independently. As a result, the module operates as a one-of-two output selector for 24 VDC notification or 25/70 V audio risers. Specifically, personality code 7 enables this dual-output behavior.
How the Kidde GSA-MCC2 Works
The GSA-MCC2 plugs into a UIO base. Then, multiple UIO modules share the same motherboard, which simplifies the field wiring. Furthermore, the loop controller automatically assigns the two device addresses the module requires.
Also, the panel — not the module — supervises the riser itself. However, both outputs are monitored for opens and shorts at all times. As a result, a faulted output will not be connected to the riser.
