The Kidde GSA-RM1 Riser Monitor Module is an analog addressable device for the Signature loop. Specifically, it monitors the integrity of signal-power, audio, or telephone risers. As a result, the panel reports a trouble condition whenever riser voltage drops below threshold.
Furthermore, the GSA-RM1 occupies one device address on the loop. Then, the loop controller assigns the address automatically — no addressing switches are used.
How the Kidde GSA-RM1 Riser Monitor Works
The loop controller downloads a personality code to set the module’s mode. Specifically, personality code 23 monitors 12 Vdc, 24 Vdc, 25 Vac, or 70 Vac risers. Alternatively, personality code 24 monitors telephone risers.
In addition, a hardware jumper on the module selects the riser voltage range. Also, the trouble-report delay is field-adjustable from 5 to 75 seconds. As a result, technicians can tune out transient dips without missing real faults. The factory-default delay is 15 seconds.
