The Kidde GSA-UIO6 is the Universal Input/Output motherboard for Signature Series modules. Specifically, it provides mounting and field-wiring termination for up to six SIGA-M / GSA-M series plug-in modules. As a result, six modules share a single mechanical assembly and a single Signature Data Circuit termination.
Furthermore, the GSA-UIO6 carries two common input/output buses on TB14 and TB15. Then, jumpers between module positions let adjacent modules share common signals, which reduces wiring.
How the Kidde GSA-UIO6 Motherboard Works
Each of the six module positions has its own terminal block (TB1-TB6). In addition, the Signature Data Circuit connects once at TB7 and feeds every module on the board. As a result, a single field-wired SDC supports the entire group.
Also, all field wiring lands on the motherboard, not on the modules themselves. Therefore, individual modules can be removed and replaced without touching the field wiring.
