The Kidde KI-OSCD is an intelligent multi-criteria optical smoke detector for Kidde Intelligent Loop addressable fire alarm panels.
First, the detector combines optical smoke sensing with additional criteria evaluated by the panel. Then, the panel’s algorithms weigh the inputs together. As a result, the system distinguishes real fire signatures from common nuisance sources more reliably than a single-criterion detector. Therefore, the KI-OSCD is a good fit where dust, steam, or cooking aerosols cause false alarms with basic photoelectric heads.

Application Notes
The KI-OSCD is panel-specific to the Kidde Intelligent Loop platform. Therefore, do not assume cross-compatibility with other addressable systems. Also, the head requires a compatible Kidde Intelligent Loop base (sold separately). However, panel-software sensitivity settings must be tuned to the application’s environment.
