KIDDE (VM-SLCXB) Signaling Line Expansion Card – T

The Kidde VM-SLCXB is the signaling line loop expansion card for VM Series fire alarm control panels. It adds the third and fourth loops to a VM-1 panel.

Specifically, the VM-SLCXB ships with one pre-installed VM-SLC card. As a result, plugging it in immediately provides loop 3. Furthermore, an additional VM-SLC card (ordered separately) drops into the second site on the VM-SLCXB to provide loop 4.

Each loop supports 125 detectors and 125 modules. In addition, both loops accept Class A or Class B wiring at the installer’s choice.

Reaching the Panel’s Loop Maximum

First, a base VM-1 panel ships with one on-board SLC. Then, a separately ordered VM-SLC adds loop 2 on the VM-CPU. Furthermore, a VM-SLCXB delivers loop 3 out of the box. Finally, adding a second VM-SLC to the VM-SLCXB completes loop 4 — the panel’s series maximum.
