The Wheelock MB-G6-24-S is a 24 VDC vibrating motor bell with a 6-inch shell. It delivers strong, low-frequency audible signaling for fire alarm systems. Specifically, this silver bell uses a high-torque permanent magnet motor. As a result, it gives dependable notification across commercial and institutional spaces.
Wheelock MB-G6-24-S sound and power
This bell produces 92 dBA at 10 feet under UL test conditions. In addition, it draws very low current at 24 volts. The average RMS current is just 0.030 A, with a UL maximum of 0.040 A. Its low-frequency aluminum shell improves audibility through walls and doors. Also, integral RFI suppression keeps noise off the notification appliance circuit.
Wiring and mounting
The bell is polarized for DC supervision of NAC circuits. Furthermore, it operates on filtered or unfiltered DC from 18.0 to 31.0 VDC. Screw terminals accept #12 to #18 AWG wire for quick field wiring. A built-in trimplate supports semi-flush mounting to a standard 4-inch square backbox. Alternatively, surface-mount it with the Wheelock indoor BB or outdoor WBB backbox.
Listings and finish
The MB-G6-24-S features a textured enamel finish. It is listed to UL 464 and CAN/ULC S525 for fire protective service. In addition, it carries FM, CSFM, New York (MEA), and Chicago (BFP) approvals. The bell also meets OSHA 29 Part 1910.165.
