The Macurco MRS-485 is a Modbus RS-485 adapter for gas detection systems. It converts a detector’s analog output to a digital signal. As a result, Macurco 6-Series detectors can join a Modbus network.
The adapter accepts the 4-20mA output from a 6-Series detector. Then it sends that reading over a 2-wire Modbus RS-485 bus. In addition, it draws power from the same connection as the detector.
How the Macurco MRS-485 Connects
First, the MRS-485 plugs into the back of the detector. Then a single screw holds it in place. Therefore, installation is quick and tool-light.
The adapter interfaces with building automation systems, control panels, and other Modbus devices. Also, it includes selectable built-in terminating resistors for the ends of the bus. Specifically, it wires through a four-terminal screw connector.
