Notifier FWSG SWIFT Wireless Gateway
The Notifier FWSG is the gateway for the SWIFT wireless fire detection system. It bridges Notifier fire alarm panels and SWIFT wireless devices. Specifically, it connects to the panel SLC loop using FlashScan protocol. As a result, wireless detectors and modules report directly to the panel.
SWIFT suits areas that are hard to wire. For example, use it in historic, visually sensitive, or restricted-access spaces. In addition, wireless devices form a self-healing mesh. Therefore, messages hop device-to-device until they reach the gateway.
How the Notifier FWSG mesh works
Each wireless device builds parent-child links with nearby devices. Then alternate paths are identified and supervised. As a result, the SWIFT mesh provides UL-approved Class A wireless communication. Furthermore, any SWIFT device can act as a repeater if a path weakens.
Capacity and power
One FWSG supports up to 50 devices total. Specifically, that is one gateway plus up to 49 wireless devices. In addition, up to 4 gateways can share overlapping radio coverage. The gateway draws power from the SLC, or from an optional 24 VDC input.
