The Protectowire PHSC-356-XCR is a linear heat detection cable rated at 356°F (180°C). It alarms when any point along its length reaches that temperature. As a result, it protects long or hard-to-reach areas that point detectors cannot cover.
This cable carries the XCR jacket. Specifically, XCR is a high-performance fluoropolymer for harsh, corrosive locations. Therefore, it suits both interior and exterior use. In fact, it is FM-approved for corrosive environments.
Protectowire PHSC-356-XCR Construction
Two steel conductors form the core. First, each conductor gets a heat-sensitive polymer insulation. Then, the pair is twisted together under spring tension. Next, a protective tape wraps the conductors. Finally, the outer XCR jacket seals the cable. When heat melts the insulation, the conductors touch and signal an alarm.
