The Siemens SET-185-R-WP is a weatherproof speaker-strobe for fire alarm voice systems. It combines a speaker with a high-candela strobe. Specifically, it delivers both voice messages and a flashing visual alert.

First, the speaker offers dual-voltage operation at 25 or 70 VRMS. In addition, field-selectable taps range from 1/8 watt to 8 watts. As a result, installers can balance audio levels across a system.
The strobe uses a Xenon flash tube behind a rugged Lexan lens. Also, it flashes once per second. Therefore, it meets ADA visual signaling needs. Its candela output is field-selectable at 135 or 185 candela.
Housing and availability
This model has a red, weatherproof, wall-mount housing. Consequently, it suits damp and outdoor-protected areas. However, the SET-185-R-WP is discontinued. For new installs, Siemens replacements are the SL23RSPS-FR (without back box) and SL24XSPS-FR (with back box). The original factory part number is 500-636191.
