The Siemens XLS-250-ZIC4A-EP is a pre-packaged electronics kit for the Siemens FireFinder XLS fire alarm control platform. What the Siemens XLS-250-ZIC4A-EP contains
First, the kit groups the FireFinder XLS basic-system boards into one part number. Then, the integrator installs the bundle into the FireFinder XLS cabinet to build a working 252-point, four-NAC panel. As a result, system designers can specify a single SKU instead of ordering each board separately.

- One (1) DLC — Device Loop Controller (one loop, up to 252 intelligent devices)
- One (1) PMI / PMI-2 / PMI-3 — Operator interface and central processor
- One (1) ZIC-4A — Zone Indicating Card (four output circuits)
- One (1) CC-5 — Card cage that hosts the DLC and ZIC-4A
- One (1) PSC-12 — 12 A, 24 VDC power supply and battery charger
- One (1) PTB — Power Termination Board (filters AC mains, distributes to PSC-12)
System capabilities
The DLC supports one isolated loop with up to 252 FireFinder XLS intelligent field devices. Furthermore, the PSC-12 provides up to 12 A of 24 VDC system power for notification appliance circuits. The ZIC-4A supplies four programmable, supervised output circuits — Class B (Style Y) or Class A (Style Z) — usable as audible/visual NAC, emergency-audio speaker circuits, municipal tie, leased line, or releasing outputs.
Operator interface
The PMI carries a VGA LCD touchscreen with surrounding menu-navigation keys. In addition, the panel is operable as the primary user interface for the FireFinder XLS system. Therefore, technicians program, view history, and respond to events from the same touchscreen used during normal operation.
Platform compatibility
The XLS-250-ZIC4A-EP is sold as a Siemens-authentic replacement / build kit for FireFinder XLS systems. Furthermore, FireFinder XLS itself is UL 864 Listed as a fire alarm control unit (the listing attaches to the parent panel rather than the components individually). For existing installations, the kit lets a service tech rebuild an XLS panel’s electronics without changing the cabinet, conduit, or field wiring.
