The Simplex 4098-9784 is a TrueAlarm 4-inch addressable sensor base, part number 0677052. It seats a TrueAlarm photoelectric, ionization, or heat sensor. As a result, one base supports several detection types across a building.
Simplex 4098-9784 Communication
The base and its sensor share a single wire pair. First, IDNet or MAPNET II two-wire communication carries both power and data. Therefore, the sensor reports its analog value digitally to the panel. In addition, a base LED provides local status indication.

The base uses DIP-switch addressing for simple device identification. Furthermore, it works with Simplex intelligent control panels. Compatible panels include the 4007ES, 4010, 4010ES, 4020, 4100, 4100U, 4100ES, and 4120 Series.
Mounting and Listing
The 4098-9784 mounts to a standard 4-inch octagonal or 4-inch square electrical box. However, the box must be at least 1.5 inches deep. Also, the TrueAlarm sensor and base operate as a UL 268 listed addressable detection system.
