The STI STI-9701 Wire Guard Damage Stopper is a compact steel wire cage. First, it protects manual pull stations, small annunciators, thermostats, and other wall devices from vandalism and accidental damage. In addition, the open wire pattern keeps the protected device fully visible. Therefore, status LEDs and labels remain readable.
STI STI-9701 construction
First, the cage is built from 9-gauge corrosion-resistant polyester-coated steel wire. Specifically, the unit measures 7 in. H x 7 in. W x 2.8 in. D. As a result, it covers most standard single-gang devices with room to spare. Also, the polyester coating resists chipping and rust in indoor service.
Installation
First, mounting clamps and hardware ship with the cage. Then, the installer anchors the frame to the wall around the protected device. Next, the cage hinges into place. Finally, the device underneath remains operable without removing the guard. Furthermore, the design supports fast and tool-light installation.
This guard is intended for indoor, controlled environments only. STI backs the cage for three years against breakage in normal use.
