The Mircom TX3-CX-2K-A-256 is a complete two-door card access control kit for the TX3 access-control platform. It is not a fire alarm system.

What ships in the Mircom TX3-CX-2K-A-256 kit

The kit bundles everything needed to deploy two access-controlled doors. First, you get one TX3-CX two-door controller. In addition, the kit includes two TX3-P300-HA proximity card readers. It also ships with a power supply, configuration software, and a USB PC connection cable.

Networking and capacity

The controller is hybrid IP and RS-485. Therefore, you can run it stand-alone or network it. Specifically, an RS-485 daisy chain supports up to 126 doors. However, adding TCP/IP via a TX3-IP-256 or TX3-IP-NP-256 module makes the system virtually unlimited.

Native IP capability is not built into every -256 model. As a result, each Ethernet-connected device needs its own TX3-IP-256 or TX3-IP-NP-256 adapter linked over RS-485.

Power and backup

For battery backup, add one 12 VDC battery rated 5 Ah to 7 Ah. Also, the bundled power supply handles primary power. Finally, the kit suits standalone two-door deployments and scalable multi-door rollouts alike.
