The Mircom TX3-IP-NP-256 is an IP gateway for Mircom TX3 access systems. It bridges RS-485 devices to an Ethernet network. As a result, TX3 entry and access panels can connect over IP.
The gateway sits between the device and the network. Specifically, it links RS-485 on the device side to Ethernet on the network side. In addition, it serves as the main (master) for other TX3 -256 models.
How the Mircom TX3-IP-NP-256 Connects Devices
First, connect each networked TX3 device to a gateway by RS-485. Then the gateway carries that traffic onto the Ethernet TCP/IP network. Therefore, multiple panels and sites can share one network.
The module mounts on a single or dual gang box. However, Mircom recommends a dual gang box when you need more wiring room. Also, it supports peer-to-peer RS-485, Ethernet, or mixed networks.
