The Wheelock EL4XST-FW is a NEMA 4X / IP66 rated outdoor strobe. It comes from Eaton’s Eluxa weatherproof notification line. Specifically, this model is a visual-only appliance with a clear LED lens. As a result, it provides high-intensity visual alerts in harsh settings. The white housing suits commercial fire alarm systems built to NFPA 72.
Heavy-Duty Weatherproofing
First, the NEMA 4X / IP66 enclosure resists corrosion, dust, and direct water jets. Therefore, it performs in washdown areas and coastal sites. In addition, the unit operates from -40°F to 150°F. The UV-stabilized engineered plastic also resists sun fading.
Strobe Performance
The Wheelock EL4XST-FW offers six field-selectable candela settings: 15, 30, 75, 110, 150, and 185 cd. Installers set candela on site, so one model fits many layouts. Furthermore, the LED strobe flashes for 20 ms, meeting NFPA 72 timing. It maintains one flash per second over its regulated voltage range. The strobe runs on 16 to 33 VDC or FWR.
