The Mircom EL-7012 is a compact twin-spot LED emergency light with 2 × 1.2 W heads. First, the housing is injection-molded UL-94V-0 flame-rated ABS thermoplastic. Then two super-bright SMD LED heads illuminate the path during an AC failure. As a result, the EL-7012 fits compact corridors and small rooms.
Mircom EL-7012 power and runtime
Input voltage is 120-347 VAC universal at 50/60 Hz. In addition, a NiCd battery sustains the unit for 180 minutes of emergency operation. Specifically, the conversion time to battery is under 0.2 seconds. Therefore, the EL-7012 satisfies the typical 90-minute backup code requirement with margin.
Mounting and operation
The light ships with mounting hardware for wall and ceiling installation. Furthermore, the test switch and charge indicator are accessible on the unit. Also, overcharge and over-discharge protection extend battery life.
Environment and rating
The IP class is IP20 with Insulation Class II. However, the operating range is 0-40°C (32-104°F). Coverage is rated for about 80 m² (860 sq ft) per unit. Finally, the LED is rated at 50,000 hours and the unit carries a 3-year warranty.
