The Mircom EL-7027BR is a red LED emergency exit sign combo with two adjustable LED heads. First, the housing is injection-molded UL-94V-0 flame-rated ABS thermoplastic. Then the EXIT face plus two 2 W LED heads illuminate the egress path at 160 lumens each. As a result, the EL-7027BR replaces an exit sign and a remote head with one unit.
Mircom EL-7027BR power and runtime
Input voltage is 120-347 VAC universal at 50/60 Hz. In addition, a 3.6 V 1800 mAh NiCd battery sustains the unit for at least 120 minutes. Specifically, the conversion time to battery is under 0.2 seconds. Therefore, the sign exceeds the typical 90-minute backup code requirement.
Mounting and chevrons
The combo is a 1-sided sign that mounts to wall or ceiling. Furthermore, the chevrons are removable, so the field installer can configure left, right, or no-arrow as needed. Also, the test switch and charge indicator are accessible for monthly checks.
Environment and rating
The IP class is IP20 with Insulation Class II. However, the operating range is 0-40°C / 32-104°F. Coverage is rated for about 80 m² (860 sq ft) per unit. Finally, the LED is rated at 50,000 hours and the unit carries a 3-year warranty.
