The Mircom EL-7027BR-NYC is an LED emergency exit sign combo with three adjustable heads, approved for New York City installations. First, the housing is 20-gauge steel in a white finish. Then the EXIT face plus three removable LED heads illuminate the path at 70 lumens each. As a result, the EL-7027BR-NYC meets NYC code with a single fixture.
Mircom EL-7027BR-NYC power and runtime
Input voltage is 120/277 VAC at 50/60 Hz. In addition, a 3.6 V 2000 mAh NiCd battery sustains the unit for 90 minutes of backup. Specifically, the conversion time to battery is under 0.2 seconds. Therefore, the sign satisfies the 90-minute backup requirement.
Mounting and NYC compliance
The unit is a 1-sided sign and supports side or wall mounting. Furthermore, the EL-7027BR-NYC carries UL 924 listing and New York City approval. Also, the EXIT letters are 8″ high with a 1″ stroke and a 100 ft viewing distance.
Environment and rating
The IP class is IP20. However, the operating range is 41-95°F (5-35°C). The chevrons are removable for field configuration. Finally, the LED is rated at 50,000 hours and the unit carries a 3-year warranty.
