The Kidde V-SLC2-2 expansion module is a dual-loop Signature controller card for VS4 fire alarm panels. It adds two intelligent device loops to expand panel point capacity.
First, the card plugs into a VS4 expansion slot. Then, it provides two independent SLC circuits, each rated for 250 addressable devices. As a result, a single V-SLC2-2 raises a base VS4 from 250 to 750 total points.
Installers can wire each loop as Class A (Style 6) or Class B (Style 4). In addition, both loops draw power and communications directly from the VS4 backplane. Therefore, no separate power supply or wiring change is required.
Key Features of the Kidde V-SLC2-2 Expansion Module
- Two Signature SLC loops per card
- 500 addressable points total: 125 detectors + 125 modules per loop
- Class A (Style 6) or Class B (Style 4) wiring, selectable per loop
- Plug-in installation in a VS4 expansion slot
- Backplane-powered — no field-power additions required
- Supports all current V-Series detectors and GSA module families
- Field-replaceable; existing program data and wiring stay intact
Capacity When Installed
A base VS4 panel supports 250 addressable points on its on-board loop. Installing one V-SLC2-2 raises the panel to 750 points. Furthermore, a second V-SLC2-2 in the next expansion slot brings the panel to its 1,000-point series maximum.
Compatible Panels
The V-SLC2-2 is specifically a VS4-series expansion module. It is not compatible with VM-1, VS1, or earlier Kidde panel families. For VS1 panel expansion, order a VM-SLC instead.
