The Protectowire PHSC-356-XCR is a linear heat detection cable rated at 356°F (180°C). It alarms when any point along its length reaches that temperature. As a result, it protects long or hard-to-reach areas that point detectors cannot cover.

This cable carries the XCR jacket. Specifically, XCR is a high-performance fluoropolymer for harsh, corrosive locations. Therefore, it suits both interior and exterior use. In fact, it is FM-approved for corrosive environments.

Protectowire PHSC-356-XCR Construction

Two steel conductors form the core. First, each conductor gets a heat-sensitive polymer insulation. Then, the pair is twisted together under spring tension. Next, a protective tape wraps the conductors. Finally, the outer XCR jacket seals the cable. When heat melts the insulation, the conductors touch and signal an alarm.

  • Linear heat detection cable with a 356°F (180°C) alarm rating
  • Recommended maximum ambient temperature of 250°F (121°C)
  • XCR fluoropolymer jacket for corrosive interior and exterior areas
  • FM-approved for corrosive environments
  • Nominal diameter of 5/32″ (4 mm); minimum bend radius 2.5″ (6.4 cm)
  • Maximum voltage rating of 30 VAC / 42 VDC
  • Supplied in a 500-foot box; approximately 8 lbs (3.6 kg)
