Siemens (SIM-16) Supervised input module

The Siemens SIM-16 is a supervised input module for the Cerberus PRO Modular fire alarm system. It provides 16 input circuits for remote system monitoring.

Each input is individually programmable. Specifically, you can set it as supervised (dry-contact only) or unsupervised (general-purpose input). In addition, each input’s usage is programmable as Alarm, Trouble, Supervisory, Security, or Status. The module also provides two Form C relays. Both the relays and the inputs are configured with the Zeus-C custom-configuration tool.

How the Siemens SIM-16 communicates

The SIM-16 mounts remotely from the main Cerberus PRO Modular FACP. It communicates with the panel’s NIC-C network interface card over a CAN bus. Two 10-position rotary switches set the module’s board address. Furthermore, up to 99 SIM-16 modules can share a single NIC-C card. Each supervised input circuit can run up to 500 feet (152.4 meters).

Mounting and enclosures

Install the SIM-16 in a Model REMBOX2 or REMBOX4, or in another UL 864-Listed enclosure. A REMBOX2 holds up to four modules. Meanwhile, a REMBOX4 holds up to eight. Each module fits a single System 3 module footprint. Also note that a 3-foot CCL CAN cable (P/N 599-634214) is required.
