The Wheelock EL3RSPST-FR is a NEMA 3R rated outdoor speaker strobe. It comes from Eaton’s Eluxa weatherproof notification line. Specifically, this model combines a high-fidelity speaker with a clear-lens LED strobe. As a result, it supports voice evacuation and visual signaling together. The red housing suits commercial fire alarm and mass-notification systems.
Weatherproof Design
First, the NEMA 3R / IP54 enclosure resists rain, sleet, and windblown dust. Therefore, it performs in covered outdoor and wet indoor areas. In addition, the unit operates from -40°F to 150°F. The UV-stabilized engineered plastic also withstands sun exposure.
Audio and Strobe Performance
The speaker operates at 25 or 70.7 Vrms across a 400–4000 Hz range. Field-selectable taps run from 1/8 W to 2 W at 25 V. At 70.7 V, taps range from 1/8 W to 8 W. Furthermore, the clear strobe offers six candela settings: 15, 30, 75, 110, 150, and 185 cd. The LED strobe flashes for 20 ms and accepts a 16–33 VDC input.
