The Wheelock EL4XSPST-FW is a NEMA 4X / IP66 rated outdoor speaker strobe. It comes from Eaton’s Eluxa weatherproof line and uses a clear lens. Specifically, this model joins a high-fidelity speaker with a clear-lens LED strobe. As a result, it delivers voice messages and visual alerts outdoors. The white housing suits fire alarm and mass-notification systems.
High-Fidelity Speaker
First, the speaker operates at 25 or 70.7 Vrms, selected in the field. In addition, it offers field-selectable taps from 1/8 watt to 2 watts at 25 V. At 70.7 V, the taps extend up to 8 watts. The frequency response spans 400 to 4000 Hz. Therefore, voice and tone signals stay clear and intelligible.
Strobe and Weatherproofing
The clear strobe offers six candela settings: 15, 30, 75, 110, 150, and 185 cd. Installers set candela on site, so one model fits many layouts. Furthermore, the LED strobe flashes for 20 ms at one flash per second. The strobe runs on 16 to 33 VDC or FWR. In addition, the NEMA 4X / IP66 enclosure resists corrosion, dust, and water jets. As a result, it performs from -40°F to 150°F.
